Waste Type Guide

The identification of your waste type is normally fairly straight forward, however here is a simple guide as to what you can and can’t place in a skip. The waste type affects the price of skip services so it is important to choose the right one for your requirement; if prohibited waste is disposed of in the skip additional disposal charges will apply.

Important Note

If different waste types are found in a bin, whole bin will be classified as MIXED and would be charged according to the waste type that is in the bin

Cancellation of order If within 24 hours, refund will be paid (minus administration costs)
If Large Tree Trunks are found Weight Based Pricing will apply: Transport plus minimum of 1 tonne at $275 per tonne
If Majority of Waste is Carperts or Underlays Weight Based Pricing will apply: Transport plus minimum of 1 tonne at $275 per tonne
If Majority of Waste is Artificial/Synthetic Grass or Astro Turf Weight Based Pricing will apply: Transport plus minimum of 1 tonne at $275 per tonne
If Majority of Waste is Rubber, Rubber Flooring, Softfall or Vinyl Weight Based Pricing will apply: Transport plus minimum of 1 tonne at $275 per tonne
If Majority of Waste is Plaster - Horse Hair and Fibrous Plaster Weight Based Pricing will apply: Transport plus minimum of 1 tonne at $275 per tonne
If Asbestos are found $2500 penalty
If Hazardous waste are found From $250
If Gas/ Fire extinguishers bottles are found $100 per unit
Insulation or Polystyrene Surcharge of $60 per bag (equivalent to kitchen bag Large Size)
Large tree trunks $55 per unit

If Prohibited and Restricted items are found $2500 Penalty will apply, plus $400 per tonne disposal cost with a minimum of 1 tonne charged plus $250 reloading fee if Disposal is not feasible
Council Permits If Bins Placed on road or nature strip Different rates apply for different councils
PROHIBITED ITEMS
Asbestos, fibro, liquids, rubber, synthetic grass, carpet, food waste, noxious weeds and contaminated waste and soils are not accepted and if found will incur an extra charge.
NEVER to be placed in skip bin of any kind

Materials placed in the skip bin must not:
  • Overfill the skip bin, so that they can spill out, or be blown onto the adjacent area, or cause nuisance to pedestrians or other road users.
  • Comprise any food waste or any material that may rot or cause offensive odors or other nuisance to residents or road users

To sustain the above quoted highly competitive prices, we rely on the cooperation of our customers to follow the waste type guidelines and only place the allowable items into bins.

Any over-filled bins above the height of a skip, will be off-loaded to the customer property, to the allowable level. Any items placed in a bin, which were not included in the Waste Type description, will incur an additional Charge.

Bins placed on a Council Land (i.e. nature strip or road) WILL attract a City Council Permit Fee. We are obliged to obtain a permit on YOUR behalf. Prices for permits vary from council to council and sometimes depend on the number of days. We are a registered supplier with a number of councils and will give you an exact price on application.
